CCSD Council’s Secretary-General Primary Functions and Scope of Work

Strategic Leadership and Management:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the CCSD Council.
  • Align the Council’s mission, vision, and objectives according to its charter.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies for the Council.
  • Ensure effective operational functions and oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Executives to establish strategic goals and priorities.
  • Manage and guide staff members to meet key performance indicators.

Strategic Planning, Implementation, and Progress Monitoring

  • Develop and present strategic plans in line with the CCSD Council’s vision.
  • Identify growth opportunities, and targets and track progress toward completion.
  • Provide timely updates to the Council and maintain transparent records of developments and achievements.

Accreditation and Validation

  • Establish fair procedures for registering training providers and programs.
  • Develop accreditation procedures for training programs. 
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards set by the CCSD Council.
  • Validate training programs, with a focus on originality declaration.
  • Ensure compliance and protect the Council from any misrepresentation by Training Providers.

Operational Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, KPIs, and staff reporting.
  • Ensure proactive communication with clients and follow-ups by the administrative team.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to inquiries from Training Providers regarding registration, accreditation, and certification processes.

Membership with CCSD

  • Create guidelines for complimentary membership for Training Providers with the CCSD Council.
  • Offer opportunities for networking and exchange events participation.
  • Establish criteria for complimentary membership for organizations’ L&D or HR Managers/Directors.
  • Outline the process for registration and accreditation of in-house training programs by the CCSD Council.

Continuous Professional Capacity Enhancement (CPCE) Points

  • Establish fair criteria for awarding CPCE points to participants of accredited training programs.
  • Oversee the CPCE award process, ensuring adherence to established criteria.
  • Promote the value and recognition of CPCE credentials issued to participants.

Promoting and Branding

  • Develop and implement ethical marketing and branding strategies 
  • Create promotional materials that emphasize the benefits of accreditation certification and CPCE points.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for growth 
  • Engage in thought leadership activities and industry forums to enhance the Council’s credibility and brand.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, including training providers, industry professionals, conference hosts, and sponsors.
  • Foster partnerships with international organizations, associations, and government entities.

Financial Management

  • Ensure financial health by managing budgets, financial planning, and monitoring performance with advice and guidance from the directors of the CCSD Council
  • Analyze financial data and implement strategies for profitability while maintaining the Council’s mission and values

Compliance and Accreditation

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, certifications, and accreditation requirements.
  • Propose new certifications to remain relevant and compliant globally.
  • Ensure all legal and financial obligations are met in the host country.

Board Reporting

  • Provide regular updates to the CCSD Council on activities, financial performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage liaisons with high-profile individuals, organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Explore opportunities for global expansion, partnerships, and collaborations.
  • Manage brand, integrity, governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Report on the Council’s performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations and advice on governance and administration.
  • Collaborate with the Council to make decisions on key issues and partnerships.
  • Implement the directives and resolutions provided by the CCSD Council.
  • Act as the senior management representative in all external affairs involving government and corporate liaison, cooperation, and association as directed by the CCSD Council.

These functions and scope will be reviewed and updated from time to time in line with the changes and demands of this position.
