The CCSD Council is pleased to share with you a momentous decision that marks a new chapter in our organization’s journey. After an extensive search, numerous interviews, and thoughtful deliberation, the CCSD Council has reached a unanimous consensus to appoint Mr. Munies Pillai, a Malaysian citizen and now a Permanent Resident of Singapore, as the Secretary-General Designate.
We warmly welcome Mr. Munies Pillai, a seasoned professional with an exceptional track record and a wealth of experience in various domains to the Management of the CCSD Council. His official assumption of office as the Secretary-General designate is scheduled for April 2024. He will assume the role of permanent Secretary-General when he takes the oath and receives the Instrument of Office in May 2024.
Mr. Munies Pillai’s tenure as Secretary-General will span from April 2024 to the end of March 2029.The Council’s fixed term of five years for the Secretary-General allows for stability and continuity; however, we would like to emphasize that the possibility of reappointment for a second five year term exists, subject to the Council’s discretion. It is important to note that no more than two consecutive terms in office for the Secretary-General will be considered.
